About Heather Emanuel

Heather empowers and supports people to find ways to befriend themselves, and to cope with, and/or change pain patterns. Using pain free, hands-on therapeutic methods, she helps you connect to yourself. Her work is to be a neutral witness, to help you build on your gifts, so you can engage with your challenges more easily. She guides people to find self-care practices that support their wellbeing.
Heather also works with children, and to help them develop their sense of themselves, creating opportunities for more varied ways of moving, and motor development improvements.
How she got here:
After the impacts of multiple car wrecks, Feldenkrais Method restored Heather's ability to trust her spine, and her bones. Her healing journey has led her to seek a mindful approach to moving—an approach based on body-awareness, compassion, intentionality, expressiveness, and even fun. Her formal training as a dance teacher and high school educator gives her a deep understanding for how people learn and that, as well as her extensive experiences with physical therapy, Feldenkrais, and yoga, informs how she structures classes. She loves helping people discover new ways of being in and with their bodies, through touch, through classes, and through experiences.
As a licensed healthcare practitioner in the state of Washington, Heather has trained extensively in anatomy, osteopathic methods such as Cranio-Sacral Therapy, Barral informed methods, and Intraoral work. She is continually involved in advanced studies in the Feldenkrais Method, and is always learning!

No matter what we are facing, whether chronic illness, pain, degenerative disease, developmental delays, or the natural aging process, we are all able to improve, and to change how we engage with our difficulties. This improvement is what I call healing. Different from returning to a former state of being (that may or may not have been ideal) this is moving forward with new knowledge and wisdom gained from injury, experience, awareness, and maturity. Often this means a decrease in discomfort, and an increase in joy and internal confidence.
