Restorative Yoga for Practitioners and Teachers

Join us for an immersion into the art and practice of Restorative Yoga. Resting deeply is at the foundation of Restorative Yoga. To rest, we need to feel fully supported. Resting in fully-supported postures allows for us to let go of tension and stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system, which is why the practice of Restorative Yoga is profoundly healing. We have known this for years: now research done by various institutions, including Harvard Medical School, offers proof that restorative yoga is a profound antidote for stress.
There is an art to helping students prop themselves in a supportive and restful way. During this training, we will cover more than 20 restorative postures, as well as innumerable variations. Our focus is on experiential and individualized learning; we help each student find a supportive position in each pose that will allow their bodies to relax and their nervous systems to rest. This deep rest is transformative and offers the same benefits we receive from meditation. In addition, our training includes trauma informed cuing, as well as other considerations that are intrinsic to creating spaces that are welcoming, safe, and supportive.
Follow-up with the Online Adaptive Restorative Yoga Workshop, and learn how to teach restorative yoga online using "at home props," or minimal props, using things such as bed pillows, couch cushions, etc. This add-on workshop is included in the price of the training. This\workshop adds 2.5 hours to your certificate.

Jodi Boone
Jodi feels that yoga is a precious gift and one of the greatest influences in her life. Initially drawn to yoga for the physical benefits of becoming stronger and more flexible, she soon realized there was something even more profound than the effect it was having on her body. Yoga deeply touched her heart, spirit and mind. Practicing yoga for many years led Jodi to seek teachers and teachings in many places, close to home in Seattle, as well as in many parts of the world. Yoga became her passion, in addition to the work she was doing with different nonprofit organizations as a grant writer. Drawn to sharing yoga with others, Jodi began teaching in 2001. Since, she has continued her studies by taking numerous teacher training courses, workshops and retreats. The path also led Jodi to become a certified pre-and postnatal instructor and labor support doula. She has also studied yoga’s sister science, Ayurveda. Jodi offers trainings in Pre and Postnatal Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga and Foundations in Ayurveda annually in Osaka, Japan. She teaches to inspire others to experience yoga within all aspects of ourselves, creating a sense of wholeness among our hearts, bodies, minds, spirits and hearts. This sense of wholeness or oneness also dissolves our sense of separation from others. She encourages students to go inward; nourishing themselves, deepening their intuition and honoring the divine within. https://www.jodiboone.com
