Feldenkrais Method of Somatic Education
Functional Integration® lessons are flexible in their approach, determined by the your needs. Lessons take place lying, sitting, standing, can be active or more passive. Clients are clothed. These lessons are rooted in developmental science, brain learning, neuroplasticity and the body's innate healing capacity. We build our idea of ourselves throughout our lives. Here is a place you can teach yourself to learn something valuable that emerges from yourself.
Heather works with you, using methods that suit your needs, including: Cranio Sacral, Muscle Energy Technique, Sports Massage, Pain-free MyoFascial Work, and Neuromuscular techniques, as well as pain science and trauma informed methods. Heather's Feldenkrais training allows these to be integrated in a way that supports lasting transformation. Clients are usually fully clothed, but not always: lymphatic techniques, and some other specific treatments may be offered. Super Bills provided upon prior request, in order to help you bill your insurance company.
What we do physically affects our energetic and emotional self. We can work with that through the body, or from an energetic perspective, even as we work with the physical body to help support lasting transformation. Reiki is works across time and space, and helps you align with your intention to heal. "Reiki is a method of natural healing that works to put the mind and body at ease and so participate in its own recovery. Reiki treatments help to relieve stress and pain both at a physical and emotional level, restoring a sense of balance and well-being" - Michael Emanuel
In these poses built specifically for you, you will find deep rest, expanded breathing, softening of chronically tense musclulature, among other benefits. During a session, a pose might be used to help you find comfort during the process of the work we do together. Or, I often offer homework to support your healing. I also have some recorded classes on Vimeo for you. Restorative Yoga practice is transformative: engaging with the nature of stillness, physical, emotional, and energetic unwinding occurs simply from resting, from gentle hands on, and from your breathing in these creative and supportive shapes.
